Day 47 of 365: a year in songs and photos
Song: Fall Out Boy, Sugar We’re Going Down
I was thinking about this song today in relation to the post below this about year end music lists.
I’m making my own list of music I enjoyed during the year, and even though I’m known for my tastes running toward speed metal or punk, I am not embarrassed in the least to say that listening to this song (and Dance, Dance) makes me happy and will appear on my Music I Loved in 2007 list.
Plus, I had this particular photo in mind since I started this project. I saw a bag of green army men the other day for 99 cents and grabbed it. I’m sure Todd will find another use for them. I think he said something about seeing how fast they melt under the flame of a Zippo.
(a comment and some emails from fall out boy fans tell me that the lyric is “loaded god complex”. It sounds to me like he’s saying gun and most of the lyrics sites say gun as well. . whether it’s god or gun doesn’t really matter because, while I would go to great lengths to get a shot for this project, I think God has a “no photos” policy)

Erm… it’s “a loaded God complex,” not “gun complex.” Nice picture, though.
I know it’s debated…it sounds to me like he’s saying gun and 90% of the lyrics sites say gun. Some say god. For the sake of my photo, I’m saying gun and sticking with it.
I thought I was the only person my age that liked FOB. They make me flash back to 1979 for some reason. Good hooks, nice bridges. I’d like to see Nick Lowe or Todd Rundgren produce an album for them.
